Research & Development
All available International Guidelines and Codes for the use of FRPs in the Civil Engineering and Structural Strengthening industry state that:
FRP systems should be developed through material characterization, durability testing and full-scale structural testing. The selection of a FRP system must be comprised of tested and verified combination of high-strength fibres and their compatible epoxies/resins as untested combinations of fibres and epoxies/resins can yield and an unexpected range of properties as well as potential material incompatibilities.
Since the 1980’s, the TYFO® Fibrwrap® Composite Systems have been comprehensivly tested and proven for effectiveness and durability. Thousands of test, both destructive and non-destructive have been performed on the TYFO® Fibrwrap® Composite Systems worldwide. These include material testing, long-term environmental durability testing, full-scale structural testing and in-situ testing of actual installations. This rigorous testing of the TYFO® Fibrwrap® Composite Systems has resulted in reliable, accepted and proven FRP strengthening systems that have demonstrated their intended design performance and design life
The TYFO® Fibrwrap® Composite Systems have been widely tested and independently verified by numerous independent testing laboratories and universities in USA, Asia and the rest of the world. Some notable organisations are:
